Description
Narrated by Tom Hughes of KWNG 106fm. This is an AUDIO recording.Excerpt from the insert:
The Pierce County's Scenic Landscapes are a product of its geological history. Its bedrock is a group of sandstone and limestone formations formed in a warm shallow sea between 430 and 505 million years ago. At the time plate tectonic movement's had positioned Wisconsin near the equator. On top of the bedrock are sediments and land forms sculpted by the action of rivers and glaciers within the last million years. The county hosts several unique geological features such as Wisconsin's Longest Cave System, the Kinnickinnic Delta, The Midwest's highest Earthen Damn and a structure that may record the impact of an astroid millions of years ago. This forms the backdrop for human use of the landscape, including recreation, road cuts, iron mining, and water quality.
I recommend downloading the tracks into iMovie or if you're a Windows or Linux user, whatever equivalent software is on those Operating Systems so you can preserve the program. Software programs like that enable you to combine all tracks into one track. When you first download the CD the program will be split into 14 different tracks.
