Winter is here! Take a look at the lug nuts and studs on your trailer.  They probably look worse than they did last year, right?   Do yours look the ones in the second picture?  That trailer is was only 2 years old when the picture was taken.  Take a few minutes and put on a set of Lug Huggerz now while you are thinking about it.  This is the easiest preventative maintainance you can do.   I have been using Lug Huggerz on my personal trailers since 1996 and have never lost one or had rusted lug nuts or studs in the nearly 20 years I been using them.  I've never had a customer contact me and say they had them fall off and ask for replacements.
Snowmobile trailer lug nuts & studs have fine threads and after just a few hours on wet, salty winter roads, rust quickly forms and aggressively distorts threads fast!  In fact so bad that you may actually spin a stud loose from the hub eliminating any chance for a road side tire change .  I learned that from personal experience in 1995 and the Lug Huggerz idea was born.  Steel components (couplers, safety chains, lug nuts, hubs, axles) on aluminum trailers rust faster than on an all steel trailer.
Before your trailer studs get rusted remove each lug nut and smear on some anti seize, put the lug nuts back on to distribute the anti seize evenly down the stud and then put Lug Huggerz over the top of the lug nut.  Don't loose a valuable day of riding waiting to get help for what should be a simple, do it your self trailer repair.
Caps are black in color and you get 10 caps per package.  If you have a tandem axle trailer you will need 2 sets.
These fit over lug nuts that require a 13/16" socket.  These caps are 1" deep to cover the exposed stud and fit tight against the wheel to keep out road spray.  Some caps are not deep enough, therefore will not work so I came up with this design.  These caps fit
snug
and will then take on the shape of the lug nut.
Before you leave on your snowmobile trip, look at the threads and lug nuts on your trailer and ask your self if you are confident they will come off easily if you have to a change tire along the highway.   These caps are really cheap insurance.  Take a few minutes now and install a set.
