    Description

These moccasins are by Paul St John, Mohawk craftsman.   They are made of very softly tanned moosehide so they should last a long time.  He tells me these are "boy's moccasins" - But they would look great on any toddler, boy or girl.   The bear paw design on the top fronts is done in black and red glass beads -  Love the way it looks against this brown moosehide.
The Passamaquoddy have long been making some of the finest leather moccasins -  this tradition started the now famous "Quoddy Mocs" -  which began as a tribal owned company employing tribal members.
Moccasins are 6" long, 2.5" across at widest,  1.75" high at the back .  There is a beading trim around the sides at the top.  These should fit a child who is  about 2  1/2 - 3 1/2 years depending on their size....Measure their feet and get something slightly larger...
Really beautiful mocs - SO soft -
Paul St. John now lives in Maine, near his mother's tribal homelands.  His mother is Passamaquoddy, Malisset & MicMac.  Paul grew up on the Mohawk lands in New York, his father's homeland and is an enrolled Mohawk tribal member.   Here he uses leather which he gets from the Passamaquoddy reserve, Sipyak near Perry Maine.  The leather is very soft.  Great for slippers - or  moccasins as part of a child's regalia, dress up or just a great indoor shoe for your favorite child.
